DOXFORD HALL HOTEL AND SPA ORIGINAL ENTRANCE
REFURBISHMENT IS NOW COMPLETE.
After six months and a £500k refurbishment and redevelopment programme this week the magnificent Georgian House - Doxford Hall opened its doors to the public for the very first time.
The original John Dobson House is now part of the main hotel, providing a new reception, additional meeting rooms and six luxurious new bedrooms. With the opening of these new facilities Doxford Hall now has increased capacity to attract new leisure and business markets.
Entering through the Hall’s stone portico the magnificent period features on display include corniced ceilings, ornate fireplaces, stained glass windows and impressive sweeping staircase. Guests can now enjoy morning coffee, afternoon tea or a quiet drink around the fire in the former Drawing Room or Library. Seating up to twenty, the oak panelled Dining Room with its magnificent highly polished dining table will now be used for private dinners, lunches and weddings, conferences and board meetings.
There are six new bedrooms and bathrooms, which have all been brought back to their former glory, they are truly luxurious, totally individual and have state of the art services and sounds. These new additions complete and enhance the hotel’s existing facilities and without a doubt Doxford Hall, Hotel, and Spa is set to become one of the most sought after venues for business and leisure in the North East.
Commenting earlier, the General Manager, who has been overseeing this programme of development said:
“The original eighteenth century features have been carefully combined with twenty first century facilities and we are all delighted with the finished results. We now have additional public areas, where our guests can meet and relax, and much needed additional meeting and private dining rooms. Our aim is to target a range of specialist conference and leisure markets from both within and outwith the area.“
Since opening two years ago Doxford Hall Hotel and Spa has become the foremost country house hotel in North Northumberland. Located less than ten miles north of Alnwick, its facilities now include 31 bedrooms. The luxury Spa, Swimming Pool and Health Club are open to residents and non-residents a range of memberships.
TWO chefs from south east Northumberland have helped land the hotel where they work a second AA Rosette.
