The hotel was great and the service was even better. Our group sat down
on our first night unsure of things to do. Brian, the owner, was
knowledgable, interesting and informative he knows the area really well
and freely gives his knowledge without being condecending. The room and
shower were great and the breakfast was superb. Reviewed by Sam C, who stayed in January 2009
Fantastic hotel with very friendly attentive staff. The rooms are
beautifully decortated with great attention to detail. Quality of food
excellent. The owners have obviously put a huge amount of though into
the design and detail and it pays off. The furniture, drapes, table
linen, cutlery - everything! is very elegant, beautiful and
understated. What a treat to have all this in one of the most beautiful
parts of the country. Reviewed by Marion Lawton, who stayed in December 2008
We were slightly concerned that there was no star rating when we booked, but the pictures looked OK, so we went ahead. The
reason for the lack of stars was that it had only started trading 5
days previously. The owners have spent 16 years refurbishing it, and it
is fantastic. The food was excellent, some of the best we have eaten.
The pool looked great, and the room was incredible. So good that we
stayed an extra night!! No real downsides, but some literature in the
room explaining the facilities would have been helpful, and if there
were tea and coffee in the room, we couldn't find it. But the room was
very big! Would we stay again, yes, we are just waiting for a few days break, and off we go! Reviewed by Rosaleen Blair, who stayed in December 2008
